Expressive Arts Therapy

Expressive Arts Therapy uses various art forms including visual arts (such as painting, sketching, use of clay, and drawing), music and sound, movement/dance, dramatic arts (such as drama, story making, working with stories and characters) and written/language arts (for example writing, journalling, poetry).

There is no need to be good at art and no special skills are needed. Anybody who is open to working a little differently than a talking therapy approach can benefit from Expressive Arts Therapies. Many people find this approach to be safe, enjoyable, and healing.

This way of working is particularly helpful for those who find it hard to describe their experiences and emotions and those who have experienced trauma.
